Exploring Updown Farmhouse: A Perfect Blend of Charm and Elegance

As a photographer, there are always places I dream of capturing, and Updown Farmhouse has long been one of those locations. Having heard so much about it, I couldn’t wait to experience it firsthand and photograph this stunning space. From the moment I stepped inside, I knew I was in for something special.

Updown Farmhouse, a beautiful 17th-century former farmstead just outside Deal, Kent, is a perfect blend of vibrant charm and understated elegance. Along with the Gatehouse and Gardener’s Cottage, the house has been lovingly updated to offer a total of ten luxuriously appointed rooms. It’s a space that feels so wonderfully put together, with every corner brimming with colour, inspiration, and delightful surprises.

One of the things I love most about Updown is how every room feels alive with personality. The space is filled with a sense of warmth and comfort, making it the perfect spot to capture both intimate moments and striking details. Blue and orange, two of my go-to shades, make a bold statement here, and there’s something about the vibrant energy of orange that feels like a symbol of optimism and expression – exactly what we need more of right now.

I’m so excited to head back over Christmas to capture even more of this magical place. I can’t wait to photograph the beautifully presented food and the luxurious bedrooms, which truly embody the perfect mix of style and comfort. It’s a space that inspires creativity at every turn, and I look forward to capturing its charm once again.
