Thrilled to Be Shortlisted in the British Photography Awards 2024!

I’m absolutely delighted (and still a bit in shock!) to share that my image For the Love of Salmon, captured for Cured andSmoked, has been shortlisted in the 2024 British Photography Awards. It’s truly an honour to be recognised in such a prestigious competition alongside so many talented photographers.

My image celebrates the artistry of cured and smoked salmon, and capturing the essence of this dish was something that really resonated with my passion for food photography. I wanted to reflect not only the beauty of the salmon itself but also the dedication that goes into the craft of curing and smoking. Every detail, from the lighting to the composition, was carefully thought out to bring out the rich textures and depth of flavour that make cured salmon so unique.

A Journey of Passion and Hard Work

Being shortlisted is incredibly meaningful for me. I’ve worked hard to capture the essence of food and the stories behind it, and it’s a journey that’s been both challenging and rewarding. This nomination feels like a celebration of that journey, and I’m so grateful for the incredible people I’ve met along the way, from talented chefs to passionate artisans and producers. Working with local brands and artisans in Kent has allowed me to grow both as a photographer and as someone who deeply appreciates the artistry in food creation.
